In this episode, we sit down with Toni Rosiñol, co-founder and CEO of StackAI. After his time at MIT and NASA, Toni co-founded StackAI, an AI agent orchestration platform with over 100,000 agents built on it, that is changing how large organisations automate their operations. Recently, Asana, the work management platform integrating AI to automate workflows across organisations, acquired the company for $75 million plus an additional equity earn-out, consolidating its bet on leading the next era of agentic work in the enterprise.
Toni grew up in Tarragona and studied at some of the world’s best technical institutions, EPFL, ETH Zurich and MIT, before making the leap to Silicon Valley. It was at MIT where he met Bernardo, his co-founder, also a MIT PhD, and where they began developing what would eventually become StackAI.
They raised $100K from their close network, got into Y Combinator, and then the launch of ChatGPT changed everything. With a clear thesis, that language models would multiply and that the real value would lie in connecting them to companies’ proprietary data, they built a visual orchestration platform that went viral in mid-2023.
But growing fast with the wrong customer model comes at a cost. Toni walks us through the decision, as difficult as it was right, to pivot entirely towards Enterprise, leaving behind the consumer segment and smaller customers that represented 70% of their base. The result was an 11x increase in revenue. We discuss how they built their go-to-market from scratch and why their expansion model within organizations has become one of their greatest assets.
We also dive into the competitive landscape. StackAI operates in a market alongside Microsoft, AWS, Anthropic and Palantir but their bet is clear: not to replace the giants, but to act as the horizontal orchestration layer that connects them all.
We are in the early stages of the agentic era, and Toni has a privileged view of what is coming from the inside. Don’t miss it!
